KCC Tuesday evening farmers market debuts tonight
by Larry Geller
The Saturday KCC Farmers Market has become such a popular tourist magnet that it discourages many locals not used to the crush of Ginza shopping on a weekend. It’s true, the tourists are after the fried green tomatoes that they read about in guidebooks or magazines and leave the kale alone, but still, navigating elbow-to-elbow through the crush can be a turn-off.
Starting today there is an alternative.
Same location, but try come 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday evenings. The tourists will be at their luaus and the emphasis will shift to produce and prepared items aimed at the local shopper.
Give it a try. There’s plenty of parking right in the KCC lots, or take bus #3 to the entrance on Diamond Head Road.
