February 28 Kokua Council program: “Challenges for the Elderly in Hard Times”


This meeting may interest those who are following the governor’s plans to tax pensions etc. I don’t know if Dr. Lum will cover that subject, but the question is sure to come up. Of course, the challenges that those on fixed incomes in Hawaii will face as costs and taxes go up while services are cut are more than just that one issue.

12:00    Program: “Challenges for the Elderly in Hard Times.” Dr. Wes Lum, New Director of the Executive Office on Aging

Dr. Lum formerly headed the Caregiver Coalition among other responsibilities involving the elderly, and was an active Board Member of Kokua Council. He was recently appointed by Governor Neal Abercrombie to be the New Director of The Executive Office on Aging.
