One reason why, although I really do lust after the iPhone, I won’t buy one (plus I dislike AT&T):

The buzz is that Verizon will start selling a newer version of the iPhone shortly after Christmas. Is Verizon more acceptable to you?
I have my beefs with Verizon, but better than AT&T, and service better too. But your question is a good one.
