Grab some sunscreen Tuesday for a rally against Citizen United
Do you hate that corporations run our government? The answer to the Citizens United case in which the Supreme Court established corporations as persons with free speech rights is to get a Constitutional amendment to return power to the people. The actual people, I mean.
A rally is planned for tomorrow, Tuesday. It’s during lunch hour, can you join in?

Aloha friends! If you wanted to do something about Citizens United v. FEC, here is your chance.
Common Cause is working with MoveOn.org and other organizations on the "Fight Washington Corruption" rally, this Tuesday Aug 10 at 12 noon at the Federal Building (Punchbowl & Ala Moana). We need people to show support for real reform at the federal level!
That day, rallies will be happening nationwide to push Congress to pass critical democracy reforms, including: the Fair Elections Now Act (public funding for Congressional campaigns), amending the Constitution to overturn Citizens United v. FEC (unlimited corporate $ in campaigns), and new lobbyist restrictions.

Since Target is one of "targeted corporations" that influence elections, let's go a step further by calling for a boycott of Target in Hawaii and stop the proposed Kailua Target, which most Kailua residence do not want. In other words stop Target's profit making ability to influence elections.
