Aid ship takes spotlight from other Israel atrocities

While much of Europe (if not this country) is following the progress of the Libyan aid ship Hope, there’s more going on the ground. Here are some examples.
Israel bulldozes Palestinian homes in East Jerusalem
Israel courted international anger on Tuesday when it abruptly resumed its controversial policy of sending bulldozers into East Jerusalem to demolish Palestinian homes. [Telegraph (UK), 7/13/2010]
Most people have read in the US media that missiles are fired from Gaza into Israel. They are not aware that those missiles seldom kill anyone, though they are illegal and terroristic. Most US media readers probably do not know that their number has decreased greatly under Hamas control.
Another thing that they don’t know is that Israel also shells Gaza:
Israeli army fires shell at Gaza camp, killing one: medics
The Israeli army fired at least one shell into the Al-Bureij neighbourhood in the Hamas-run Gaza Strip on Tuesday, killing a woman and wounding five people, Palestinian medics said.
Medics said the woman was killed when the shell hit her house. Five others were wounded were taken to a nearby hospital. [AFP, 7/13/2010]
