Awesome: C-Span full video archives now on the Web

by Larry Geller

(Thanks to Tara Calishain of ResearchBuzz, who has been researching reference sources on the Internet since at least 1996!)

Yes! This is what the Internet makes possible. The New York Times wrote today that 23 years of video covering five presidential administrations will be accessible via the Internet.

Having free online access to the more than 160,000 hours of C-Span footage is “like being able to Google political history using the ‘I Feel Lucky’ button every time,” said Rachel Maddow, the liberal MSNBC host.

C-Span is one of a kind, a creation of the cable industry that records every Congressional session, every White House press briefing and other acts of official Washington.

The archives are located here.

Requiring those Captcha codes at least temporarily, in the hopes that it quells the flood of comment spam I've been receiving.
