US wouldn’t like Taliban to violate international law in their treatment of captured soldier. !?
by Larry Geller
American hypocrisy is front and center before the world as the US laments that the Taliban are breaking international law by releasing a video of the captured soldier. After all, Gitmo and the black sites are still in operation, and Obama is proposing military tribunals and indefinite detention on his own, going beyond even George Bush’s egregious violations. Nor will he prosecute perpetrators of US torture under the Bush regime. So give us a break. It’s the US that has trashed international law, and now we cite it?
Check out this Matt Bors cartoon. It’s not possible for me to include it here, but if you click on the image it will take you to the cartoon on cagle.com. That’s a great website, by the way, my only fear is that you’ll get lost over there and not come back here.
