House fails to override veto of HB128
by Larry Geller
I hope I didn’t nod off and miss something, it’s been a long day.
But a rewarding one. Except for state legislators who won’t be able to increase Mainland contributions. Incumbents won’t be able to curry favor by donating money to their local libraries. Etc.
Thanks to everyone who emailed or called their representatives. It does make a difference.
Checking the status record just now confirms that HB128 never even came up for a vote in the House.
So tonight its cork popping time. Not only has it been a long day, it’s been a long session for advocates fighting to keep limits on corporate contributions to our legislators.
