Act 221 beneficiary creating new jobs—on the Mainland, of course
by Larry Geller
From today’s Advertiser breaking news:
Superb Internet, a Honolulu-based Web hosting service, said it's opened a new data center in Springfield, Virginia that will compliment its existing facilities in McLean, Virginia and Seattle. The company also has around-the clock operations in Honolulu.
Superb has been in business since 1996 and stated on-line that “Superb Internet chose to make the move to Hawaii partially because of some of the Act 221 benefits.”
It seems that our very generous tax credits are benefiting the state of Virginia.
How many Hawaii jobs could be saved with tax credit money that inevitably benefits Mainland job seekers?
