Twitter titter
by Larry Geller
Advertiser reporter Derrick DePledge reports on premature twittering on the part of Rep. Gene Ward in his post Fire! today. Apparently Ward twittered that the General Excise Tax would be increased by amending a tax bill currently without any such language. And the Hawaii Reporter blog found that to be just the fodder they needed to construct another Democrat-blast for ever-eager readers.
Well, as DePledge reports, Ward may have taken a joke seriously. In other words, someone told him this in jest and he just tweeted it. Now, tonight’s a deadline for that and other bills to be finalized for next week’s voting. The session is drawing near its close. So midnight tonight is when we’ll know if the joke is on Ward or on us, I guess.
