by Larry Geller
The ceremony is supposed to stream live from the Democracy Now website starting 7 am Hawaii time, that’s right now!
Amy Goodman , one of the best journalists, broadcast journalists and authors in this world is going to receive the award "...for developing an innovative model of truly independent political journalism that brings to millions of people the alternative voices that are often excluded by mainstream media."
She is the first journalist ever, which going to receive the Right Livelihood Award as known as ALTERNATIVE NOBEL PRIZE.
Amy Goodman has been unlawful arrested while covering events related to the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, United States of America. [Pressemitteilung WebService, Receipients of the Right Livelihood Award have arrived in Sweden, 12/8/2008]
The linked article has brief information on each of the awardees. More on the Right Livelihood awards themselves is on the Democracy Now website.

Update: Well, the streaming of the award ceremony didn’t work for me. I tried pinging the server and it seems to be grossly overloaded. It may be that all the Democracy Now fans on the planet were tuned in to the one little video stream.
Perhaps there will be an archived version available later on.
