Advertiser prints tainted AP article on Hadley

by Larry Geller

This is what President Bush's national security advisor Stephen Hadley actually said during his appearance in an interview with George Stephanopolous on ABC television:

This whole issue of opening ceremonies is a nonissue. I think it is a way of dodging what really needs to happen if you're concerned about Nepal.

But in Hadley: Skipping Olympics opening a 'cop-out', "Nepal" was replaced with "Tibet." The AP did not report that Hadley repeated said Nepal instead of Tibet.

The New York Times reported that Hadley "referred at least a half-dozen times to Nepal when he seemed clearly to be speaking of Tibet." It's not exactly disappeared news, Keith Olbermann also covered this amazing gaff.

A minor quibble? He's the national security advisor.

That the AP covered this up raises issues with the accuracy of their reporting.

Curiouser still, Hadley was not corrected during the interview.
